Sanjivani Health and Relief Committee ("SHRC") was established in 2005 in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and is engaged in providing primary medical heath care services for rural population.
With an aim to provide affordable health care services to the underprivileged population of Rural Ahmedabad, Wagh Bakri Tea Group provided financial support to SHRC in carrying out Health Care Programmes at the interval of every 28 days in each of the 40 villages of Ahmedabad District. Blood Pressure, Diabetes are being checked and necessary medicines are provided to the patients in these camps. The Medical Camps helps in early detection and initiation of treatment in case of Hypertension and Diabetes which helps into less number of hospitalization related to stroke (Paralysis), heart attack and kidney failure. During COVID-19 pandemic, SHRC has continued its medical services to mankind by organizing medical camps by following government norms. On an average about 1000 patients take benefit per month of SHRC's medical services.
To facilitate free medical services for the disadvantaged population of Rural Ahmedabad, at their doorstep, Wagh Bakri Tea Group also provided monetary assistance to SHRC for the purchase of well-equipped Mobile Medical Unit with ECG facility. This Mobile Medical Unit was also provided during second wave of COVID-19 to 100 bed COVID Care Centre set up at Anand Niketan School, by various renowned corporates, Industry Bodies and philanthropists, under the able leadership of our Executive Director, Shri Parag Desai, who is also a Chairman of CII Gujarat Social Impact Taskforce.
