Distributing Sanitary Napkins, Dispersing Happiness

Utkarsh charitable trust is a registered, non-profit organization based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, established to support women who wish to meet their full potential in life, but need a helping hand. Utkarsh conducts awareness programs to prevent potential problems common to women and girls who lack education, training or achievement due to social, economic or cultural conditions.

Menstrual Health Hygiene is still a concerning area in India wherein many of the girls and women still face significant barriers to dignified menstrual health. Wagh Bakri Tea Group provided financial support to Utkarsh Trust to create awareness and promote Menstrual and Reproductive Health Hygiene amongst adolescent girls. Through audio-visual training and free distribution of sanitary napkins, 350 school girls from B.P.M Girl's High School, Dholka, were given Menstrual and Reproductive Health Hygiene education.

Similar programmes were organized at AMC-run schools, where about 2800 packets of sanitary napkins were distributed free of cost. The awareness program was also organized at Vishwamangalam, Anera and sanitary napkins were distributed free of cost.
